Cold is a common disease which causes us to suffer very frequently. This is a common disease and causes to us suffer many times in a year. A person whose immune level is low becomes its victim again and again. Viral infection is the reason of cold. When it attack, the following symptoms appear,
Sneezing, irritation in nose, throat, soreness of throat, difficulty in swallowing water, food, sneezing, watering from nose, eyes, shivering with desire of heat, chill, restlessness . A person whose immune level gets weakened is more prone to suffer from any disease as well as with cold.
• Viral Infection: This is a main cause of cold. It is observed when one person gets infected with cold viruses, whole family members get infected one by one and all have to suffer. At a place of mass gathering, school, college, if one person/student gets infected, other students/persons also get infected. Use of cloth, towels, closeness, and contacts in any forms with infected person become the reason of infection to healthy members.
• Sensitivity to certain Allergen – Some person is very sensitive to some materials, fragrances, scents, aroma, dust, dust of a particular material and this produces symptoms of cold.
• Changing weather, cold weather- Change in weather conditions, abnormal rise fall in weather temperature, excessive humid and hot weather, cold weather cause cold. In such weather conditions, it is observed symptoms of cold in masses.
• Dust –Inhaling dust of a particular material, road dust or some other dust becomes source of infection and cold.
• Unhygienic condition at home and surroundings
• Ireegular living habits, irregularity in going to toilet to clear bowl, irregularity in taking bath, meal etc, sedentary life style are also the reason of frequent attack of cold due to reduced resistance level of the body.
To protect from cold, taking care of the above points proves to be helpful.
Some of the measures, which I adopt for myself and my family members with very high percentage of successes are,
• Ferrum Phos-6x with Natrum mur -6x : In all the symptoms of cold - Irritation in the nose, throat, frequent sneezing with mild fever or without fever, watering from the nose, shivering, chill, use of 4 globules of Biochemic Ferrum Phos-6x with Natrum mur -6x at an interval of 1 hrs give immediate relief and subsequently use for 2-3 days cures the cold.
Use of Ferrum Phos-6x with Natrum mur -6x should be started immediately after symptoms of cold is noticed. Early start stops further advancement of the cold and relives from cold soon.
• Nux Vomica-30 : In case of Cold with shivering, this gives very fast relief. Patients likes heat and even after covering and heat application chilliness do not go awy. After covering with cloth and wearing hot cloths, feels heat but immediately after uncovering feels chill and shivering. Sneezing, cold, cough, pain in the whole body are also present with cill and shivering.Nose blocked. Nose blocked at day time but opens in the evening.

Common Cold, Flue, Influenza.
This should be used from very intial stage of the influenza,cold and flue.
This is used as preventive also when Influenza,Cold and Flue are spreading on a large scale and if Nux vom,200 is given it prevent attack of these diseases and save from suffering.
Continuing Nux vomica-30 at an interval of 3-4 hrs for further one or two days cure the cold.
• Aconite-30 : In cases of sudden attack of cold with thirst of much cold water and restlessness- one or two doses of it at an interval of half an hour give immediate relief.
• Rhus Tox 200 : Cold ,influenza,flue due to getting wet in rain. use at an interval of 4 hrs. Feels pain in eyes due to its movement, Physical restlessness but movement of the body gives relief.Patient drinks amall quantity of water frequently at short interval.

Arsenic Alb,6,30: It is effective in the begining of the attack of Flue or when the symptoms of Flue gets subsidized but many problems associated with Flue are still present like some times feaver appers and some time disappears.If there is intermittant feaver, cough, weakness after Influenza its one or Two doses of Arsenic cures these symptoms.
In Arsenic there is mental restlessness, patient does not stay at one place comfortably,watery discharge.
Ammonium carb,200: After Influenza if cough is presnt with pattient then one or two doses of it cures the cough problem.
• Bryonia-30 : In case when cold advances slowly, like first day irritation in throat/nose, second day sneezing and so on.. Appearing of the whole set of symptoms of cold may take several dose. Pain in the bones of the body,dislikes movement of the body,feels pain during movement of the body, too much sweating.

Gelsamium,6,30: When patient suffers of Influenza, there is soreness and pain in the body

Eupatorium P,6,30: Patient feels Pain deep in the bones, restless, feels relief when moves the body. Body hot but ther is no sweating. The main symptom is severe pain in the bones not the chest and respiratory track as in Bryonia.
Sticta,Q,3,6: Dry Coryza. In the begining headache and pain in the nose root. When Discharge starts , headche and pain from nose root disappears and when discharge stops pain again starts Dischrges from nose get dried, feeling of irretation in the nose, discharge get dried and forms dry layer inside the nose, no discharge even after sneezing. Nose blocked, difficulty in breathing at night can not reamin in laying position get up from sleep.

Aerum triphyllum,3,6,30 : Continous cutting and Bitter discharge from nose but nose feels dry and blocked, breaths through the mouth,pain at the root of nose , habit of continous scratching of the nose.Aggravate after lying down.
Sensitiveness of inspired air. This symptom is present in Rumex, Kali Biochrome, Phos and Dulcamara also.
Allium sepa,3,6,30: watery discharge from Nose and eyes. Discharge of nose produces cut,scratches on the skin of nose,lips but discharge from eyes does not affects the skin.
Likes cold and open air. In the closed door room and in the evening problem aggaravte. Headache in closed and hot room but condition improves in open cold air. desires to walk in cold open air.

Natrum Mur,6,30: Very useful when coryza starts with excessive sneezing with watery -white discharge. In chronic patient of coryza discharge is thick and white.It stop the coryza if applied in the begining of coryza with sneezing.
Desires for salt,slty food items.

Kali Iodide: Thick ,Green or yeloow-green discharge from nose
Kali Biochrome: Ropy discharge from the nose.thick ,putrid discharge of green,yellow coloure,nose blocked,violent sneezingfeels pressure and soreness at the root of nose. ulcerated septum.
Rumex,3,6,30: cough with irretation and tingling in throat pit,enough discharge from nose and respiratory track, dry and vexing cough, unable to sleep sleep due to dry cough.
Aggravation due to talking, breathing in cold air and at night hours.
